On Saturday, May 28, DJ Nocturna presented a live music showcase starring 80s Pop Muzik and A Feast of Friends co-host Lana Saldania and her band Live Nation, as well as her daughter Tzana Saldania making her musical debut at Bar 35. From fun, light-hearted quips to angst-driven acoustic to sultry rock & roll, these ladies gave it their all to rock Bar 35, along with DJs Native Girl, Shadowfaxx and Nocturna.
In honor of the Man of Steel and the Caped Crusader (and the new movie starring the two which came out the same week), DJ Nocturna’s monthly 80s Pop Muzik party at Bar 35 paid tribute to the superheroes that shaped our childhoods. Special guest DJ Cindy Kim from New York graced us with her presence, and Supergirl took home the cash prize for best costume/attitude!
BATMAN vs. SUPERMAN
80s Pop Muzik, with DJ Nocturna at the head, celebrated its 6th anniversary with an appropriate tribute to one of the greatest musicians of all time, David Bowie. In a nod to the great man’s legacy, both DJs played sets that primarily consisted of Bowie’s music through the decades, and three of the Cherry Blossom Cabaret performers, Violetta Beretta, Emma Peal and Keala Fung performed a number choreographed to Bowie’s “China Girl.”
